I am discovering that I get bored easily.

I am fine if I am juggling all sorts of mania, problems and events, but when things slow to a crawl, i start looking for trouble to get into.  This is bad. very bad.  Life is slowing down.  Where will my next trouble to get into lie?

You scored as II - The High Priestess. The High Priestess is a card of intuition, instinct and hidden knowledge. She knows all your secrets, you can hide nothing from her. Yet you will never know the secrets she herself protects. If well aspected in a Tarot spread, this card can indicate the use of intuition to solve problems; trust to your instincts. If badly aspected, it can mean suppression and ignoring of such instincts - following your head at the expense of your heart.

Stab a searing poker into my ear drum. . . please?

Aug. 16th, 2006 | 09:21 am

Turned on the radio this morning and they were playing a song by Jessica Simpson singing 'You spin me right round baby....'

There is just something about that that makes my skin crawl in that.

There are spiders. . .

Aug. 11th, 2006 | 01:58 pm

And then there are everyday old wolf spiders.

Which are I guess starting their hunt for winter homes because they are en masse at my house.

My mother thought we were being taken over by brown recluses. I had to catch one to make her believe that these arent. Geesh.

Memory to-do list.

Aug. 8th, 2006 | 03:40 pm

There are many things that I keep meaning to post here... I have post-its... literally stashed around my computer drive as a reminder. I think I will start putting them in one at a time... then I will date them to when they belong. So quite likely, the next few posts/memoried will be out of order until I can get some sequencing going on in my brain.

For my Mal

Aug. 4th, 2006 | 08:53 am

I missed the day, but I hope it was a good one and a good start to another revolution around the sun. My thoughts were with you.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend... and perhaps I will drive up later in the fall.

Hurricanes

Jul. 11th, 2006 | 03:07 pm

Had three dreams in a row last night about hurricanes... All from different angles and perspectives and none of them warm and fuzzy.

Ok... It's not quantum calculations

Listening to NPR interview officials in New Orleans on the crime rate reduction. They were so pleased with themselves that they are only arresting on average 30 or so youths a day as opposed to the 100-120 a day that they had been pre-Katrina. Ok, take a look around. THERE IS NO ONE THERE IN COMPARRISON!! I mean 20/1000 is a much more insane percentile than 120/1,000,000

Careers, life and other nonsense

Jun. 7th, 2006 | 03:52 pm

I need a new career. I want to go back to school and I am in a rut in life right now.

Career? what do I want? Something way less than practical. I will do my whole yoga/wellness center thing... but something inside me cries for something with a bit more corporate structure.

School? Ha... after all that English, now I am going back for poli sci. And I think I have picked out the language or language branch that I want to specialize in... Persian/Farsi or perhaps Urdu. Who besides me goes out of their way to pick out a terrorist language right?

Ruts? I just need to absorb things, people, ideas and life again. And there is none here. Hopefully I will get that this weekend in Boston.

Seems camping is out.. which is slightly sad as that was my main goal in going... hmmm.. oh well.. Perhaps Mikey will be entertaining!

Damn boredom!

May. 17th, 2006 | 10:58 am

Leave your name and:
1. I'll respond with something random about you
2. I'll challenge you to try something
3. I'll pick a color that I associate with you
4. I'll tell you something I like about you
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of
7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on yours

Hey Mikey - LOOK

May. 17th, 2006 | 10:09 am

Associated Press/AP Online
MOUNT MERAPI, Indonesia - Mount Merapi shot a large cloud of searing hot ash and gas into the sky Wednesday, ending two days of relative calm and underscoring the dangers still facing thousands of people living on the volcano's slopes.

Witnesses said the eruption appeared to be smaller than the mountain's most violent sputterings Monday, when ash and gas clouds surged around 2 1/2 miles from the peak and triggered panic.

Vulcanologists keeping the mountain on 24-hour watch were not immediately available for comment on the eruption just after 5 p.m. (6 a.m. EDT), which sent volcanic material plunging down its western flanks, but appeared to fell well short of populated areas.

Should I pack scuba gear?

May. 16th, 2006 | 11:40 am

Ok... So I am wondering if my trip to Boston in june will end up a camping trip or a scuba trip. . .in the street?

Reading how bad it has been, I have to say how awful that is... If we know anything here in Louisiana its flooding!

Distraction

May. 11th, 2006 | 12:00 pm

I need physical distraction. A violent out-pouring of aggression and energy. I need the artful challenge of a quick mind to bait and fence with. I need the brutal and honest and base revealling of a nature that will not let mine become stale and assuming.

There are very few people that play that game of base natures with me verbally... and I miss them.

Physically, I can find replacements.. Finding the next challenge physically is as easy as finding the next pair of broad shoulders.

Mentally, I crave the drug to my addiction for ruthlessness, sharp minded, unapologetic fierceness of mind.

Tool.

May. 9th, 2006 | 09:29 am

So. I like the new Tool. I am glad to have something new to absorb. But I have to say, I miss some of the edge from the past. I can appreciate the growth and change and all of that they are leading off into. I think I like Roseta Stoned best. And I think I like 10,000 days the least...

Warning...

May. 9th, 2006 | 09:21 am
mood: contemplative contemplative
music: Rosetta Stoned. Tool

Much rambling ahead.. and potentially many postings today.. As I feel rather like venting/voicing/talking. Rather than one regrettably long post I will send a barrage of little ones.

Ok.. So.. Bush forces the CIA director out. Ok, none of us were in the room with them, so we don't know what the reasons were (besides of course the monumental failings of the intelligence community over the last administration) so given the benefit of the doubt that Bush was attempting to make things better, I waited. Benefit of the doubt lost. Who does he put in place but a military commander. Ok.. this is BAD, really REALLY BAD. You DO NOT put a civilian intelligence organization under the auspice of a man with uniform on!! Send him to military intelligence if you want to give him a position. So what are the potential ramifications here? We now have someone in charge of a group who is answearable 'not to Rumsfeld, but to Bush' leading what is supposed to be a foreign intelligence community. Ok... This is setting up for cross pollination of the CIA more into domestic affairs than what they already are.

BAD.
